ukcareadvice.co.uk is owned and operated by Teddz LLP. For the purposes of the UK GDPR, Teddz LLP is the data controller. We are a provider of independent care advice and a facilitator of connections between families and care providers.

2. Data We Collect and Why

Lead Generation & Consultations

When you request a “Virtual Consultation” or “Speak to an Expert” via our Local Support Hubs, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and brief details about your care needs.

  • Purpose: To connect you with a qualified care expert in your area.
  • Legal Basis: Consent and performance of a service.

eCommerce (UK Care Advice Shop)

If you purchase products via our shop (powered by Shopify), we collect billing/shipping addresses and payment info.

  • Note: Payment details are processed securely by our third-party processors (e.g., Stripe/PayPal) and are not stored on our local servers.

Comments & Media

If visitors leave comments, we collect the data shown in the comments form, the visitor’s IP address, and browser user agent string to help spam detection. If you upload images, avoid embedding location data (EXIF GPS).

Who we share your data with

We may share your contact information with our designated Local Expert Partners if you request a consultation for a specific region. We will always identify the partner before you submit your data. We do not sell your data to random third parties. However, we share data in the following specific scenarios:

Administrative: If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Local Partners: If you request help in a specific county (e.g., Northamptonshire), we share your contact details with our Exclusive Local Partner (e.g., Cardea Healthcare Northamptonshire) so they can fulfill your request for a consultation.

Service Providers: We share data with Shopify (for orders), email service providers (for newsletters), and spam detection services. If you make a purchase via our Care Shop, we collect transaction data. This is processed via Shopify; please refer to their privacy policy for payment processing details.

4. Cookies

Functional: If you leave a comment, you may opt-in to saving your name and email in cookies for one year.

Session: If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies.

Shopify Cookies: We use cookies to track your shopping cart contents and session as you browse our store.

5. Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction.

Comments: Retained indefinitely.

Inquiries/Leads: We retain contact information for up to 2 years to ensure continuity of advice, unless you request deletion.
